100% cotton t shirt. Preshrunk, soft washed. Originally established in 1968 and founded by shaper Dave Garner, Plastic Fantastic Surfboards began a history that would span five decades, over half a dozen owners, and factories in 3 states. The name Plastic Fantastic was inspired by the Jefferson Airplane song “Plastic Fantastic Lover.” The original home for Plastic Fantastic was in Haleiwa, Hawaii from 1968 to 1970, followed by two more years of production at a different location on the North Shore. At the same time, Garner and Danny Calohan would open shop in Huntington Beach, California, and the company would employ a stable of gifted shapers through the years, including Skip Frye, Jock Sutherland, Robert August, Bruce Jones, and Barry Kanaiaupuni. From 1968 to 2003 it is estimated that Plastic Fantastic produced approximately 55,000 surfboardsAvailable in sizes Small through XXX-Large.

This fabric is the default standard for classic heavyweight cotton t-shirts. It's the one that's been around for a long time that you've likely worn time and time again. Made from durable heavyweight 6 oz. 100% cotton material, this fabric is comfortable and made to last. It's pre-washed to minimize shrinkage, however, some shrinkage does still occur so plan accordingly.

  • 6 oz. fabric
  • Some colors require blending: 
    • Ash Grey: 99/1 cotton/polyester
    • Heather Grey 90/10 cotton/polyester
    • Other heather colors: 50/50 cotton/polyester
  • Double needle 7/8" collar

We ship orders M-F, except for major holidays. We do not ship orders on Saturday or Sunday.  Our cut-off time for same day shipping is 1:00 PM PST.  Any orders received after 1:00 PM will ship on the following business day.
